We live in a time, when facial recognition software is applied to someone nipping into a shop, to buy a sausage roll.
There is absolutely no need for this blatant invasion of privacy.
What information is being taken with this?
Where is it going?
Who are they selling it to?
United Utilities – “Turning the tap off while you brush your teeth and save 12 litres of water a minute!”
Under the heading, “Save money on your energy bill”
May have escaped your notice marketing people, we don’t brush our teeth with hot water?
How can running the cold tap for 20 seconds save money on your energy bill?
Next up we have a flyer from Santander (absolutely awful firm I stopped dealings with years ago)
“We report missed payments to credit reference agencies” – OK nothing unusual there…
“This may impact future borrowing, including getting a new phone or broadband contract.” – Errrr what?
I remind all corporates of one fact of life…..
Corporates of all kinds, will punish every eventuality, UNLESS, profit can be obtained from it.
It won’t prevent a new phone contract or broadband contract, or even a credit card, it will simply mean you are charged a higher rate of interest for it.
But thanks for the heads up Santander, regarding what you (and no doubt others) eventual aims are.
No doubt more examples of corporate crap will surface soon…
