Come in number 39…

Once you start Senior school, or High School as it’s now known by yet another American terminology, you no longer exist as far as “the system” goes.
You are just a number.

Then you progress from senior school, into the world of work, or further education, where yet again, being a number becomes ever more apparent.

As you make your way through the world of work, you will face continuous reminders, that you are just another number on the treadmill of life.

This is completely understandable and accepted by the mainstream of people, which is not the downside.
The downside is when god knows how many millions are spent, god knows how many hours of patronisingly leading you on, telling you how important or essential you are to the roles you carry out and the “team” you are “a part of”

It’s all a load of complete bollocks!

When it comes down to it, there are thousands waiting behind you, ready to take your place.

The ironic thing is, the higher people climb the ladder, the less they realise they too, are just a number.
Some are just higher numbers than others.
Hows about they educate about this in schools?
Not a chance.

The real thing that matters in life, working or otherwise, is YOU and your family.
A working life is no substitute for time.
No amount of coin, name badge or working title can replace how you are with/to those around you.
Only you can know how you are and have been with those around you on a day-to-day basis.
If it’s anything less than you’d expect for yourself, then change and do something about it.
